La Ghiaie is an old gravel pit with depths from 1-6 meters, several plateaus almost reaching the surface. One end of the lake has many different slopes down to 6m water, the other end is more flat and 3-5m deep.
The bottom consists mostly of sand and gravel.
The lake holds 15 double seats.
The lake is packed with natural food such as local crayfish, larvae, snails, mussels, plants etc. this means the fish have a lot natural food, so here quality boilies are a must.
Due to the all the natural food, the fish are in excellent condition, and you need to work a little to get them talking when they first talk, then there are some really big fish in the lake + 25kg this applies to both common carp mirror carp and grass carp.
There is a large population of mirror carp in the lake.
The water in the lake is super clear this is due to the many sources that come from the bottom of the lake, this provides both fresh water as well as plenty of oxygen in the lake. From May to October the lake rises about 1.2m due to the water from the bottom of the lake, as well as the rain, which we rarely experience in Italy.
